Self-esteem is an important concept in psychology.  
Self-esteem may be linked to certain behaviors.  Thus, it
is important to define self-esteem. What is self-esteem?  
Below is one definition of self-esteem:

Self-esteem Definition:

Self-esteem reflects the extent to which a person has a
positive evaluation of himself or herself.    A person with
high self-esteem believes that he or she has self-worth.

Self-esteem Examples:

There may be a number of good examples of
someone is has high self-esteem.   Below are two
examples.  These examples reflect that a person can
have self-esteem in different ways.

1.   Bill believes that he is a good person with a number
of positive traits, such as honesty, kindness, and

2.   Jill believes that she has many talents, such singing,
writing, and math.
